Stanislav Muškinja

drummer / perucussionist

Born in Bjelovar, Croatia in 1981.Stanislav started to practise drumming at age of 14. Inspired by the concert performance of Dave Grohl who was the drummer of, in that time, very popular bend Nirvana. The start was on canisters and boxes, but soon he got his first real drum kit and started taking privat lessons.Of course he allready had a band , because , it is the most important thing, even more important than to realy know how to play drums.

During that time in high school, at his home town af Bjelovar, he played in local bands, playing all the alternative stiles and also some weddings and that kind of gigs. Drumming for him in that time was just a hobby. Somewhere near the end of highschool he started thinking of being a drummer as a profession and he started attending music school for percussion, it was the nearest instrument(s) to drumset, and also prepare for a preliminary exam for music academy in Zagreb.

At 2003. he started to study percussion at Zagreb Music Academy, but playing in bands was his prime occupation. He played with FORLORN LEGACY, metal band from Zagreb, recorded an album with them and went on tour in 2005. He also played with MOTUS, the oldest hardcore band in Croatia. He also had luck to be chosen to play drums with CHUCK BERRY on his concert in Zagreb, in his band, with him, and lot of other alternative combinations such as electronic music with live band and one dancing show. But also during that same time at the academy he played with student percussion ansambl called BING BANG, recorded an album with them and won the first world prize according to the Percussive Arts Society for the year 2004. and because of that played a concert at Percussive Arts Society International Convention. He also travelled with Bing Bang to Taiwan to the bigest asian percussion meeting and to Spain. During that time he played in lot of other classical ansambles in whole Croatia, he still sometimes honorary playes in the simphonic orchestra of Croatian Radio Television.

At year 2007. he finished the academy and become «Academic Musician Percussionist and Professor of Percussion». Today he plays on parties , weddings and this kind of gigs and makes a living out of it because it is the best payed job for the musician in Croatia today.

But he also has his progressive, alternative band called Eigenschaft in wich he can show his drumming possibilities, and tryinG to make a career with them. He regulary practises and is becoming better each day. He thinks of him self as a drummer for every stile and occassion.
